Hey, guys!

I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and that’s where I started to sing when I was 15 years old, by joining an Iron Maiden cover band for only a few months. As I had found out the joys of being part of a heavy metal band, a while later I joined the power metal band Synnoveriem, who was at the time looking for a new singer. And there I was, with new band-mates that would become real friends, playing live almost every weekend to the great metal fans of São Paulo and surroundings. During this time, I took singing lessons with the awesome Brazilian singer Mario Pastore (now rocking with his solo band, Pastore). Well, we went on concerting and working on our debut album for a few years, until life started happening and, unfortunately, we ended up going our different ways.

From 2004 to 2007, I was the lead singer of the Evanescence tribute band Crimson Regret (later Sweet Sadness), and thanks to connections to the official Brazilian fan club, great gigs were made possible! Meanwhile, I was also part of the heavy metal band Avantgard, sharing the microphone with the talented composer and singer, Andre Sauer. Eventually Avantgard also came to an end, and I started dedicating my singing career to musical theater.

In 2007 I moved to New York, where I fulfilled a Professional Musical Theater course and exposed myself to a whooole new world…it was a hard, but wonderful experience. I also had the opportunity to perform in a musical cabaret in “the city that never sleeps” !

Since then, I have been juggling with the pursuit of a singing career in musical theater and my architecture studies, until I decided to come to Germany for a university exchange program and “see what happens”…

After spending a long time away from the metal scene, my boyfriend’s daily playlists made me turn my interests towards it once again (seriously, like that!). I was eagerly looking for having a professional band experience when, to my happiness, I bumped into one of Highlight Kenosis’ internet ads! I applied right away and now, here I am: ready to give my best to contribute to this awesome band, formed by these guys who are not only talented and committed musicians, but also great people.

Here we go!

I like:

“floating across the tops of cities contemplating jazz” (adapting Allen Ginsberg).

I’d like to meet:

subversive good-hearted people driven to change the world and the daily heroes of everyday life (luckily I can say I have met many of them, including the closest people in my life ;) ). And Bowie, wow, Bowie!

Music:

Some of the iconic names are Iron Maiden, David Bowie, Thin Lizzy, Janis Joplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dream Theater, Frank Sinatra, The Rat Pack, Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi, but I would say everything that sounds like a mixture of talent + heart + “I got something to say”. Add the very brazilian Bossa Nova to the list ;)

Movies:

This list should be constantly updated, but the list would begin with The Clockwork Orange, My Own Private Idaho, Trainspotting, Fight Club, Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad), Nightmare Before Christmas, Blade Runner, The Shinning, Batman: The Dark Knight, The Shawshank Redemption, The Lost Boys, Ghost, Pulp Fiction, The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind…oh, the trilogies of The Godfather, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings (oh well, simply classics.)

Heores:

The crazy nasty-ass Honey Badger!! And all the people “I’d like to meet”.

My dreams:

to cultivate and reach peace of mind, and doing my part in the fight for positive changes in the system.
